Avijit Patra is 28 years old and lives in Howrah, India and is a MCA (Masters in Computer Application) of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Born on 30th December 1975, in Kolkata, (India), he moved to Howrah. Apart from traveling all over India with his family Avijit has spent his entire life in Howrah & Kolkata, India. After completing his schooling from Vivekananda Institution, Howrah; he graduated from Narasinha Dutta College. After graduation he joined IGNOU to do his masters in computer application. He co founded LINUXjunkies Foundation along with other even minded people on  December 2003 with the aim of spreading awareness and educating people about Linux and FREE/Open Source software. 
Today, Avijit Patra is an independent teacher/ and freelance programmer and System Admin of various web hosting company. He has been teaching various computing subjects like :

PROJECT WORK DONE : (During MCA Study)

In the final year of MCA., I have carried out a joint project on "The Study and Simulation on Wireless LAN applying TDMA FH-DPSK on Multipath Fading Channel".

Association with Projects :

Study and Simulation of "Performance evaluation of token-bus (IEEE 802.4) MultiAccess protocol with/ without priority schemes".

Implementation : C++ Language.

     ## He is now managing a GNU/Linux based Network of a Local Net-on-Cable ISP, in Howrah.

     ## He is now managing a PHP/MYSQL based Forum in www.linuxjunkies.org/forum.

    ## He has started a project http://www.linuxtraining.co.in this targeted to teach novice users/students.

    ## He has trained the Indian Army Officials in the Eastern Command, Fort William, Calcutta
          on the C-DAC course on Networking, GNU/Linux Networking and Router and Switch Configurations.

Crazy Ambitions: To visit all over India and countries in the world and to be remembered even after he leaves this planet.

Dislikes: Dishonest, Selfish and Egoistic people and also pretenders and the people who exploits the other people deliberately. And I hate traitors.

Bad Habits: Does not easily change opinion once formed. Sometime spends too much time for himself.

Philosopihical (Boring to many) Belief(s): 'You must have a dream, to have dream come true' ,'Truth exists and only lies are created' and 'Life is too short to hate and fight, spread love and warmth to truly enjoy it.'

Strong points: He is always open to suggestions. It is nice to hear what other people have to say.

• The US now demands fingerprints from visitors from most foreign countries. The US government takes the outrageous position that "If you're not a terrorist, you have no grounds to object to whatever kind of surveillance we might impose."
  If you are  a foreigner, you would probably stay away rather than subject yourself to this.
  

• Brazilian government must be praised. They have made mandatory to all incoming US citizens to give the same fingerprint to them so that they can be distinguished from terrorist.

• Support CRY for their work on Child relief in India. Such actions provide a boost to one's self confidence and pave the path of feeling the fulfillment.

• The US Army has behaved like war criminals with the Iraqi Prisoners. Your protest must be heard. US army officials and the people who are responsible must be prosecuted.
